I hope this correspondence finds you and your family well during these unprecedented times. The pandemic has certainly challenged the most adaptable and resilient of us in unexpected ways. Those same challenges persist with corporations and organizations as well.
So today, I’m writing to share how Collaborative Solutions for Communities has continued to help people find wholeness in their lives – even during a pandemic, and finally to ask you to support our mission.
Collaborative Solutions for Communities is a DC metropolitan area not-for-profit organization. We help people face the toughest misfortunes life can bring. We go to where severe things happen—on the streets, in homes and in schools, to help unite people, and find solutions to gang violence, truancy, homelessness, and poverty.
We provide a wide range of services to the community. Within 24 hours of a homicide, we hold a Critical Incident Meeting with the people who are grieving so there isn’t retaliation and more violence. If a mother walks out of prison, we are there to provide her with the skills to stay free and care for her children. If a child loses their parents, we do everything possible to keep them out of foster care by finding relatives who can raise them.
When our clients are at risk, we ask the following questions: “What would your life look like if you were safe? What would your life look like if you could heal your trauma? What would your life look like if you were making a steady living?” And when they finally find the courage to tell us, we do everything in our power to help them get there. We believe in their strength—the strength of the human spirit—and the strength of families and strong communities.
Our staff is dedicated, capable, and rigorously trained. They persevere through situations that are truly tough for everyone, and they never give up.
For 25 years, Collaborative Solutions for Communities has been dedicated to the DC community. As we look forward to the next 25 years of service, we ask for your support. Please help your neighbors find strength and healing in their lives by making a tax-deductible donation of $25, $250 or $2,500 to Collaborative Solutions for Communities.
We believe in three words: Together We Can!
Thank you so much.
